Jesus said: In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places....I go to prepare a place for you...and I will come again and take you to myself.
We are sorry that you are facing this difficult time, but hope that we can bring you God’s loving care and offer our support to you in the coming days.
Can I have a service in church – we didn’t attend regularly?
How do I arrange the service?
A worship leader can explain the practicalities and will meet you to go through the service to assist you in the planning of this time – as we entrust your loved one to God’s care and seek God’s strength in all that you now face. You might have music or hymns that you would like included, or a reading which is appropriate – do mention these when we visit and we will do our best to ensure that they can be included. The Funeral Director will normally arrange the printing of service sheets if these are required. They will also inform you of the costs.
The recently deceased and those bereaved will also be remembered in prayer at Sunday and weekday Services, if that is appropriate. They are also mentioned in the church’s weekly sheet so that other members of the congregation can pray for you, and in the Magazine Parish Registers.
We also offer support or a listening ear at any time after the funeral – please do let our Administrator know if you would like a visit at that point. You will be invited to a quiet service of remembrance each year in St Andrew’s – when the names of those who have died in that year, together with those requested specifically – are read out in prayer.
